We were comissioned to make a memorial stained glass window depicting Alice Ingham. The figures on the window were designed by Toni White an artist who is a member of St Patrick's Church.

She works in many mediums and has produced some beautiful painted panels and 'stations of the cross' displayed inside the church. She produced the designs for the figures on the series of three stained glass window designs and then the design project was passed on to Classical Glass Ltd where Andrew Seddon transposed them into stained glass designs and added the backgrounds.

The first window to be made depicts Alice Ingham, a nun who lived and worked in Rochdale in the 19th century.

"Isn’t it wonderful when someone helps you to feel good about yourself? They do or say the right things at just the right time and the world is a brighter place because of them. Alice Ingham was born in Rochdale in 1830. She could see that many people in her town needed to feel loved and cared for. Alice knew the joy of being loved by God and by her family and wanted to bring love into the lives of all those around her. Alice became a nun and decided that instead of having her own family she would make the poor and needy her family and love them like a mother. She found loving parents for children and helped many people by being there for them when they needed food and shelter. She is now known as the founder of the Catholic Children’s Rescue Society.
